Polyferric Ferric Sulfate Pfs for Industrial Wastewater Treatment

Polyferric Sulfate (PFS), is an inorganic polymeric coagulant widely used in water treatment. It appears as a reddish-brown or yellowish-brown viscous liquid (liquid form) or pale yellow powder (solid form), highly soluble in water to form a strongly acidic solution (pH 2-3). PFS functions through charge neutralization, adsorption-bridging, and sweep flocculation mechanisms, effectively removing suspended solids, colloids, organic pollutants, and phosphorus from water. Its multi-nucleated hydroxyl complexes generate dense, fast-settling flocs (5-30 minutes), significantly enhancing water clarity.
 
PFS excels in treating high-color, high-organic wastewater (e.g., textile dyeing, electroplating, and pharmaceutical effluents), achieving up to 70%-90% COD reduction and over 85% total phosphorus (TP) removal. It also exhibits strong adsorption capabilities for heavy metals like ar-senic and lead. With stable performance in low-temperature and high-turbidity conditions, PFS minimizes residual iron ions, avoiding secondary water coloration. Compared to aluminum-based coagulants (e.g., PAC), PFS produces denser flocs, faster settling, and eliminates aluminum residue risks, though its strong acidity requires corrosion-resistant equipment.
